How does that have anything to do with liberalism?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@BlueMetalChick It doesn't -- it's just right wing silliness and misinformation.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@ChipmunkErnie Figures. And besides, why would liberals get upset at someone praising Trump? Trump is an economic liberal.
chrisCA · M
@BlueMetalChick I believe many labels get tossed around without people knowing their true meanings.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@chrisCA Eh, probably true. If you like Trump you must automatically be a conservative, if you vote democratic you must be a liberal, if you support publicly funded education you're a communist, if you think frogs are gay then you're libertarian...
chrisCA · M
@BlueMetalChick I hear ya. Some Americans think of us Canadians as Communists. 😅
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@chrisCA When we think of you at all 😉
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@chrisCA A guy here on SW recently told me that I'm a "radical leftist like Nancy Pelosi." It's like saying that 2% milk is spicy.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eli1601 Well you spend shitloads of time posting memes about us and screaming about how we're the biggest threat to American freedom so you kind of gave up your right to claim you don't think about us.
chrisCA · M
@eli1601 That is part of the problem. Many Americans only think about themselves. There is a whole big world out there.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@chrisCA Oh, he was referring to Canadians. I thought he meant "you" as in leftists.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@BlueMetalChick Are you sure you have the right guy 😅
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eli1601 Never mind, I didn't realize you meant Canadians.

Still, y'all spend a lot of time thinking about them too. I mean, a ton of Americans were calling for the US to cut ties with Canada after the Canadians gave the middle finger to Saudi Arabia.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@chrisCA What problem?
chrisCA · M
@BlueMetalChick Yeah. That's it. Snub your allies, but cozy up to dictators.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Any dissenting viewpoint is liberalism. To them anyone who opposes Trump belongs to a homogenous group of people that you can label. Of course opponents of Trump can fall into the same pit. @BlueMetalChick
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eli1601 He's saying that your statement of "when we even think about you" shows how shortsighted you are on world affairs. For example, Canada is playing an important role in America's state of labor right now because their negotiators are pressuring the US to repeal right-to-work laws that let big corporations treat their workers like shit. They're not doing it just cos they're nice like that; the Canadians are upset that America is intentionally lowering the state of labor to attract more big businesses. Corporations are leaving Canada to set up in the United States instead because they can underpay their employees, force them to work for longer hours with fewer breaks, and give them cheaper insurance and dental plans. Which means that Canada is currently doing more to help the American working class than America is.
chrisCA · M
@BlueMetalChick One reason why Amazon could never run a warehouse in Canada the way they do in the States. Our governments, and citizens won't put up with that crap.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@BlueMetalChick Really? Why didn't he just say that himself if that's what he thought.

I think it's more what you think.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@chrisCA Want the worst example of that you can find? My fucking city was trying to entice Amazon to putting their new warehouse here, like many other cities were, and we were also offering a special bonus to Amazon if they chose us. You know what that bonus was? All property taxes collected from any Chicago residents who were employed by Amazon would be given directly to Amazon itself.

Meaning any Amazon employee from Chicago would be paying their boss.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@eli1601 Because he probably hasn't got the desire to type out long paragraphs like I do. But I type at 131 words per minute and I'm an obsessive person who argues about this shit on the regular.

eli1601 · 70-79, M
@BlueMetalChick None of us do.
chrisCA · M
@BlueMetalChick I am lucky to hit 25 wpm. Lol
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Yep, we now have an Amazon 1 million sqft restocking centre in my sleepy little area of Canada.@BlueMetalChick
