I'm genuinely curious which party is better and why? Republicans or Democrats?

I never understood why people choose one or the other

When voting, candidates should be judged individually on their own merits. The same applies to ballot questions. Sure it takes a little bit of time to research and vote knowledgebly however voting is a right to be taken seriously.
