This is an outsider's opinion, but I believe that the idea that only one side may be right is the indicator of a deeper flaw within your society. Both sides represent the interests of different parts of the populace - both of which is arguably "right".
I would argue that one ahould decide the morality of a situation for one's self before relying on partisanism to guide one's thinking.
I realise I may be inviting a lot of flak by saying this.
@Jouskan47 I'm sure you think you were being almost prophetic but your summary was really rather shallow. You could be describing any allegedly free people. Not everyone is a puppet whose strings are pulled by fear and or hate.
