I have begun to wonder if some Democrats are attempting to influence Judicial Appointments based on "recollections" from the barroom floor. Thoughts?

Sad thing is, it's working. There is no way in hell this would still be going on if the Republicans didnt have problems with midterms.

They've got the votes, they're afraid they won't have them after the midterms and they still can't approve a guy whose been on the federal bench for 12 years.

@MistyCee I think it's the "Me Too" movement that is the threat. The Republican party back in the 50's and 60's was the party of old white men who upheld the status quo, which was awful back in those days.

Nowadays they have to do backflips to try to overcome that old reputation...and they can't be seen being unfair to women who are claiming sexual abuse. Even if they were drunk and all they can remember is seeing a penis while lying down on the floor drunk...democrats still think that is valid and usable because of "Me Too".
@4meAndyou Trump's pussy grabbing bragging doesnt help them on that score much either, but I'm thinking it's more than just "me too" or memories of the 5Os and 60s that has them worried about female voters.

Didn't I hear something about them wanting to bring in a woman lawyer to examine her? It sounded pretty bizarre that it could be done, but most senators, well, pretty much suck at Cross examination. Even the ones who did trial work get rusty, and the Thomas hearings were excruciating to watch.

@MistyCee The lawyer for CB Ford insisted there could not be a female lawyer to question her. Lots of conditions. McCabe and his legal team are trying to set up the Judicial committee for a big publicity fall. There is a female Senator they are considering for the examination.
@4meAndyou Who's the female senator?

@MistyCee Correction: they are considering using their own female senatorial aides to present their questions.
@4meAndyou sighs. This whole thing is pathetic on both sides.

@MistyCee Isn't that typical of Congress and politics as a whole?
@4meAndyou It's a little worse now, I think than it's been in my lifetime, at least.

Confirmation hearings are usually shows, but this is going to be a circus and really embarrassing.

I know it can't happen now, but we really should go back and revamp this process, with full background checks done before hand, a 2\3 vote to confirm, back the partisan stuff down a few notches again, and restore some semblance of seriousness to lifetime judicial appointments.

Its a pipedream I know.

@MistyCee (Sigh). Yes, it's a dream. It's a struggle for power and idealogy.
