Imagine this: Justice Thomas retires in the next couple of months and a few months after that RBG retires

I don’t wish anything bad for either but by my count thst will result in President Trump naming four Justices. Ignoring FDR’s Court packing scheme and the original SCOTUS, will that be the most ever by one President?

side question..

so yu'al would be happy with term limits across all sectors?

so either side isnt stuck with a dynasty of conserves or liberal scotus's?..

senators congress ... everyone..

20 year veteran 'do nothing-yes men-gravy train suckers' have got to go yes?..

Judges keep lifetime appointments. Senators are reduced to four year terms. Congressmen and Senators have eight year term limits. @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
@jackjjackson across the board is my point.. why do some keep a job till they fall of the peach. focus being on scotus..
anyone think a judge on the edge of dementia and senility. should prolly be made to step down..?
just google ginsberg and straight up theres pics of her snoring when she should be.. paying a little attention. or at least pretending to.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout No, I am not in favour of term limits for justices. Reason being is that we have the advantage now. If the majority were on the other foot you bet I'd be for term limits. Hey, at least I'm honest.

The issue is crossing that edge. @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
thats why i asked. wouldnt it be fairer for both sides if neither could be trapped in a dynasty of no change or one agenda...
the pendulum swings both ways. it wont favor conservs forever.
i think it would pull everyone back from madness to a more central position..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout [c=#800055]Because you’re thinking sensibly. The problem is too many people think like Kate. They want it all one sided. That’s whats wrong with the whole system. It’s supposed to have the best bits of everything but, everyone is so busy scheming and trying to find ways to skew the board that they no longer have time to do their jobs unless it’s an election year and they need to look like they’re doing something. [/c]

When was the last time the politicians actually did their jobs? I would give the courts credit for at least doing THEIR jobs. @VioletRayne

@jackjjackson [c=#4C0073]you gotta admit they kinda don’t have the leeway that law makers do[/c]
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
True. They have to deal with the vpcases that keep coming to them. @VioletRayne

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The issue is really not term limits, but an uninformed electorate. Every election, the voting citizens can "term limit" a sitting politician. If that politician has done nothing or been counter productive to the voter's wishes, then out they would go...IF the electorate is paying attention. How do we get to that point? Who the hell knows.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The percentage of eligible voters who register is low. The percentage of registered voters who actually vote is low. Totally disgraceful. @goliathtree
