i hate the term "privilege." a "privilege" is something extra that you earn. the things labeled white and/or male privilege are not extras. they're basics.
being assesed on your skills and not your race or gender when applying for a job; based on your credit when applying for a loan; being treated with basic decency.
Those are NOT extras. the problem isn't that whites and males have those things but that people who are not white and not male are not extended those same basic right and courtesies.
i'll also add that membership in a dominant group does not mean all members of that group have benefited. there are plenty of poor, marginalized white men. i think toxic masculinity harms men, too.
