Should Bernie Sanders run for President in 2020

Do you think Bernie Sanders is too old.

Yes. I find it odd that the Democrats couldn't find any suitable candidates other than a couple of old white people ( the scourge of the GOP). Also, Bernie has connections to Wall Street. Doesn't look good for his "socialist " reputation.

@FITMIKE70 Connections to Wall Street?
Yep. I never bought his "socialist " shtick.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 We already live in a socialist country, it's socialism for the wealthy. Which is why we just give them money for no reason. So I'd support a candidate who encourages socialism for the working class.

Even if you don't think it's that great, would you not agree that it's better than the corporatism that we currently have?
That's like saying everyone is equal. Baloney. Everyone is different. I've worked in 3 different unions. All they were good at is taking my money. Everything can work in theory, that's how they hook you.
By the way. Do any of these candidates live in working class neighborhoods?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 How in the hell is that like saying everyone is equal? You're telling me that the concept of not giving free money to rich people is the same as saying everyone is equal?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 Yeah, quite a few. Ocasio-Cortez just unseated Joe Crowley and she lives in the fuckin' Bronx. Ben Jealous is another good example. I'm not sure about Tulsi Gabbard's current living situation but she used to reside in a low income neighborhood in Seattle.
Ever live in NY? Not cheap, even in the Bronx. We'll see how far she goes.

Everyone is not equal physically or mentally. Some are better in sports than others. Some are better in math than others. This equal outcome the Left preaches is total nonsense and they know it.
A lot of wealthy people earn their money. It seems to be in fashion to yell unfair by those who cannot compete.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 You're calling the Bronx an "above working class neighborhood?" Really? By that standard, most ghettos would be. I live in Chicago. One of the worst neighborhoods here is Garfield Park, and it's not cheap either.

No the outcome you assign to people you don't like is total nonsense. Nobody preaches these things except you when you accuse others of preaching them.

Oh yes, the Koch Brothers just worked so much harder than everyone else, so did the Johnson Family, or the Waltons. It's totally not like they just inherited massive fortunes from their parents.

Oh wait...
Not talking about The Koch's. You assume every rich person is bad, unless they vote the way you want them to.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 And when did I say that? You just made that up right now without knowing whether I feel that way or not.

Jeff Bezos is rich, he votes similar to how I do and I still think he's bad. Rand Paul does not vote how I do, he's rich, and I actually like him a fair bit because he's very outspoken about America's atrocious foreign policy.
You assumed things about me that I didn't say. How's it feel?

I just don't have a pathological hatred, envy really, of those better off materially than I am.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 When did I assume something about you? That's not a rhetorical question, either, if I did do that, please show me where cos I really didn't mean to.

I don't have a pathological hatred or envy of people with more material wealth than I do either. I do have a pretty strong hatred for those who feel entitled to wealth, like CEO's of corporations that are worth billions of dollars, and they expect to just be handed over more money for the sake of it. I also have a hatred for people who think it's acceptable to give large sums of money to politicians in exchange for favorable legislature. There's a name for that, it's called Citizens United.
Go back and see if you didn't assume.

I don't think anyone CEO or Average Joe deserves a right to wealth. It's earned. I've seen a lot of moochers think they're entitled to everything at everyone else's expense. Doesn't work that way.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 That's called a meritocracy. And generally I agree with that sentiment. I still think concepts like welfare or public housing are acceptable so long as they're not abused. It's reasonable to think someone might use welfare for a couple months if they've fallen on hard times. Now, collecting food stamps and having children to use as a tax write-off is a completely different story, but that's an entirely new conversation to be having.

If you truly believe in meritocracy then you would probably agree that the harder someone works, the more they should be paid. In which case you would recognize that people who work two or even three jobs but still can barely afford to sustain themselves are being cheated, when compared with someone who simply sits around as a business owner doing very little and makes millions.
If I own a company, Am I not entitled to make the most? After all, I take the majority of risks. There's no skill to pushing buttons and pulling levers.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 That depends on what your company is doing. Is it really worth what you provide? Oil, for example, makes absurd amounts of money. Is oil really so labor intensive from the owners of fossil fuel companies that it should make them thousands of times more wealthy than people who work regular jobs?
Yes. If its my money I front for my company.

But, how many union heads live in the same neighborhoods as their workers?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 Honestly, I couldn't tell you. My knowledge of labor unions is pretty insignificant.
I've been in several. Was disappointed. Greed isn't for the wealthy only.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 I've never worked a union job before. I'm a war refugee who spent the better part of a decade and a half traveling around the world seeking asylum, so I've made most of my money either under the table from unofficial jobs, or from criminal ventures.
For the record, I'm not wealthy. Nowhere near it. I wouldn't be allowed in a country club nor would I want to be. I've been a working class person my whole life. I just don't blame one side for everything and by experience, Am skeptical when I hear anyone say they have "the answer " to our troubles.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FITMIKE70 There is no one single answer but many answers that when combined do a tremendous amount of good.
