SW-User
Everyone should have the right to no out of pocket health care.

@SW-User really? Why?
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User I have a lot of Brit friends. You'll have to ask them how they like it. And ask them how they like having the state take over custody when their children are dying in hospital, not even allowing them to take the child to another country for free care.
Mysti · 51-55, F
@SW-User yes because doctors, nurses spend years in school to work for free
4meAndyou · F
@Mysti Really good point. Not only that, having worked in human services AND with Alzheimers and dementia and brain damaged patients, I can tell you that there is not enough money in the world to pay the toll. After we serve, we are either dehumanized or so burnt out we can barely function.

@4meAndyou I also have a lot of Brit friends. 85% of our population support the current model with only 7% against. So if you really actually do have British friends with that opinion, their views are in a tiny minority.

Yesterday, I was at a demonstration with thousands of people to celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS. As far as I can tell, it's really hard to imagine anyone doing that for the American healthcare system.

@4meAndyou I believe that and know some "human service workers" that are quitting their jobs now.

@Burnley123 You are right. Our healthcare system needs a major overhaul. I think socialized medicine run by the state will become prey to all the ills we see now in the V.A. healthcare, and ALL socialized medicine is plagued with long waiting lists to get in to see a doctor, including the (as you state) so popular NHS.
@4meAndyou All I can say is mother referred to GP on Tuesday by her Carers.Hospital at Home in on Wednesday.Diagnosed by Wednesday evening.Treatment started immediately.Blood tests show improvement on Friday.All Free.Wonderful NHS
