"I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free"

That song is a crock of sh*t. The land of the free for WHITE AMERICANS.

@melanchoIy That's true because average white Americans are losing their rights and freedoms more and more these days.
@indyjoe What rights and freedoms are whites losing (that others are not) ?

@bijouxbroussard I'm just saying that it's getting to a point where a person cannot have personal feelings, beliefs, opinions without being persecuted or legislated against (even if they are not actually hurting anyone). A lot of it is because people are fighting racism by being racist, sexism by being sexist, acting as if their rights are more important than your rights...then constantly stirring the pot, engaging in "witch hunts", and forever becoming offended and whining over every little thing. Our country is quickly becoming less Majority rules and more minority rules. Everything has just been turned upside down and inside out, and very little is ever really done to fix it only make it worse. We haven't lost our freedoms just yet but it is definitely headed in that direction.

@indyjoe When the scales begin to rebalance toward equality, those who've been on the higher end tend to feel as if they're sinking. As if their rights are being taken away when, in fact, the playing field is simply being leveled.

@Graylight I do not nor ever have considered myself on the "high end". I do not like getting involved in these conversations because all it does is raise argument and controversy...that's why it's rare that I do. I'm just a simple average American (who just happens to be born white) and I'm tired of being blamed for all of the problems others face all of the time. That's all I'm saying on the matter.

@indyjoe While I'm quite sure you're not to blame for most societal problems, the unfortunate fact is that the ruling class, which tends to be white and largely male, is. It's a collective blame kind of thing. My intention is not to start an argument.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@Graylight I realize that isn't your intention. You are right it is the rich ruling class, but it bleeds down to anyone else even the lower classes who also happen to be white and male. I have personally been accused of being racist and sexist. etc. even when I have said or done nothing of the sort. It's totally ridiculous, and it is giving me a headache. You see it a lot right here, just pay closer attention....Women always generalizing about men, whites being generalized about being racist, and so on. If I were to generalize that way, people would come down on me like Custer's last stand. See what I mean?
@indyjoe You don’t like people making assumptions about you, based solely upon your race and your gender. I think that’s a fair thing to object to. Technically it’s called profiling. And I can certainly relate. 🤔
