Why hasn’t a CA governor become President since President Reagan?

One would think running the country’s largest state would be great training for the job?

Schwarzenegger couldn't 'cause he was born Austrian, Jerry Brown tried for the Democratic nomination, but was deemed too nutty. Grey Davis got sabatoged by the electricity shortage debacle caused by Enron, and Pete Wilson's hardline anti-immigrant stance helped make Republicans unelectable in California in perpetuity.

@WoodyAq It wasn't just Enron - Davis was obviously corrupt and incompetent.

Arnie would have made a good president imo, I would have voted for him easily. Still the only republican who's ever had my vote.

@QuixoticSoul True, he wasn't well liked within California. But he was talking about making a run until Enron.

@WoodyAq He would have been a fucking disaster if elected.

@QuixoticSoul I don't disagree.
