It’s a nightmare. Racists and womanizers are more empowered than ever with him in charge.

@TheGemini Mexicans, Muslims, people of color, most women...
TheGemini · 22-25, F
@bijouxbroussard A racist sexist 😊 how wonderful
bijouxbroussard · F
@TheGemini No, it really isn’t. 😒

The failure is not in our current president. The failure was the election process that only allowed us to vote for a buffoon, or a liar.
GoodoldBob · 61-69, M
@Steve42 Too true. Forced to pick between a crook and an idiot what are you going to do?
bijouxbroussard · F
@GoodoldBob The “crook” who thinks he was “smart” to dodge the draft and not pay his taxes ?
Steve42 · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard I didn't vote for him.
Trump as scary as he is, is not the scariest part. The scariest part is how many people have felt free to let their hate express freely. I honestly didn't think there were so many.
bijouxbroussard · F
@SameoneElse That’s the thing. He won’t always be president, thank goodness. But what colossal messes will he have left behind ? 😞
@bijouxbroussard oh yeah

Depressing, hopeless, worrisome, and an invaluable opportunity for political scientists to observe how liberal democracies can slip into authoritarian fascism before most of the population even gets what’s going on.

The country probably hasn’t been this divided since the (last) Civil War.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard America feels that way even from afar. 🤗
But Britain is not much better right now - mainly disagreement over Europe.

It would be entertaining if there was less at stake. Although he has (more or less accidentally I suspect) stumbled into a good idea or two the random, half thought out ideas that seem to regularly pop into his head are more than a little worrisome
GoodoldBob · 61-69, M
@SW-User He went about it strangely and it may even have been an accident but he did manage to open negotiations with North Korea instead of starting a shooting war. And he is right about the tax cuts. The tariff thing mostly only makes sense as a bargaining chip for trade negotiations, but we shall see
TheGemini · 22-25, F
@GoodoldBob I personally don't think building a wall between Americans and amazing tacos is a good idea 😅

It's like a very, very bad four year long nightmare.

Truthfully, it's kind of hard to tell that he is president. His staff is quite anemic, and they struggle to craft actionable policy. Not to mention that even with his party controlling congress, they've failed to deliver on several major points. He hasn't been able to do very much. At least on a day to day level. If you're playing the market it's a rollercoaster. You can probably make money in the short game if you just wait for him to say something stupid and then buy stock right after and then sell it after he goes quiet for a while.

The same as doing work for him on one of his buildings. I'm just bending over and waiting for the inevitable assault.

Embarrassing, frightening

@Roatlamb I doubt that.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@Roatlamb I have to admit I agree with @bijouxbroussard on this one. I'm no fan of May but the equivalent of Trump would be something like having Nigel Farage as Prime Minister - for me an even bigger 'No Thanks!' than May.

He is doing a damn fine job
It kind of sucks, IMO.

Best thing thats happened to this country in a looooooooong time!...we're lucky to have him as president.. #MAGA
