@SatanBurger I actually think that the desert island would for two separate communities.

One community would grow only vegan food, call itself 'the collective' and have direct democracy for [i]all[/i] decision; even about who was gathering tomatoes that hour.

The other community would build a church and a wall around their town. They'd also go hunting daily even when they had enough food.

Relations between the two would be frosty and there would be an emissary for each one.
