The governor of California has created a permanent law rationing indoor water use for all residents to 55 gallons a day.

By 2030 that amount will drop to 50 gallons a day for indoor use. That amount is per person in the household per day.

Mothers are wondering how they will do laundry. Could you live with only using 55 gallons of water a day, including dishwashing, laundry, showers, bathing pets, and so on?

@SimplyTracie like I said wasteful. We don't use half that amount in UK, possibly rest of EU too.

@SW-User Are you guys having a drought too?
@SW-User Yet the uk is one of the top countries when it comes to importing water. A lot of that water you import comes from drought prone areas.

@SimplyTracie no, I think everything you have is fkg huge, that's the issue! You could fit one of our washing machines inside your top loaders. Your toilet cisterns I could swim in. We are pretty minimalist, have been for decades, had to be, shts expensive here!

@AcidBurn im not attack the the us pointing out the difference. I'm not aware of any imported water, other than bottled water, thats a fashion thing, our tap water is good to drink! Our last shortage was 1976. I remember it well.

@SW-User Just don't bath everyday.
@SW-User I know you weren't. But importing that much water from places that can quickly have none to send could quickly become a problem.

@SW-User I understand being cost conscious. I’m frugal myself but water is kinda cheap.

@SimplyTracie I think the issue is that there just isn't enough to go around. It's like having a dozen cookies but you have 36 hungry people.

@AcidBurn it's capitalism, supply and demand!

@SimplyTracie Denpends where one is located. When I was in Cali water bills were pretty expensive but back here on The Great lakes it is pennies.
SW-User
@SimplyTracie I get that, cheaper over there than over here!
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@SW-User Except that heatings the water isn’t cheap if you’re not on solar.
@MethDozer I lived in the milwaukee area. Water was super cheap compared to where I am now in central missouri.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@SimplyTracie did you know if take 15 liters of water to grow one almond?
MethDozer · M
@AcidBurn Yeah, when I was out there it made my jaw drop when I saw the water bills. I always been raised not to waste water too so it isn't like I was wasteful with it.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@ozgirl512 I did not know that. I say we ban almonds.
MethDozer · M
@SimplyTracie And that Damn almond milk crap.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@SimplyTracie it's a crazy situation.... Definitely flies in the face of all logic
SW-User
@SimplyTracie my point is, if something's really cheap you consume it and consume it and consume it! Like fuel, you guys rightly complain about price increases but have huge inefficient cars, we've again had decades of smaller, lighter more fuel efficient cars because our fuel prices have always been very high in comparison.
@MethDozer The almond content in almond milk is actually really low.
SW-User
@MethDozer milk? No almond boobs, its not milk! It's juice! Lol
MethDozer · M
@AcidBurn I have no idea what is in it but nut and legume milk is Satan's ejaculate.
MethDozer · M
@SW-User Preaching to the choir bud.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@SW-User You’re right. I should take conservation more seriously. I should, I know.
SW-User
@SimplyTracie we all should! ☺🤗
