Having teachers in schools carry guns and training them how to use them to counter school shootings.

@Carver this 👌🏾
@Carver I swear, I thought of kindergarten cop when I heard of this, followed by Dirty Harry.

@SW-User Thanks for the BA!

@Carver Excellent answer!

@Carver Instead of schools having signs on them that say gun free zone. They should say staff may be armed. Might make idiots think twice before entering a school with a gun.
Carver · 31-35, F
@jackson55 I'm all for having security guards armed and patrolling the hallways at all times during school hours but arming the teachers is just lunacy!
jackson55 · M
@Carver for most I feel you are quite right and most would not want access to a gun. It would only take a couple in a school that knew how to handle a gun to make a difference.

@Carver as private citizens , teachers have the same right to arm themselves as any other citizen . Seeing that they work in areas where psychos like to come and shoot people because it's the only place left in America that’s unprotected . We protect money , jewelry , airports, VIPs and VIPs children with guns ... but refuse to protect our most precious commodity ( our kids ) with anything of substance . That’s tragic and pathetic . Waiting for the country to disarm is a joke , that’s not going to happen . But those few Teachers that are gun savvy who take extra training and practice ... in each school , are going to be able to not only stop the threat , but also deter it because the cowardly perps don’t know where it’s coming from , just know that it’s coming . It makes perfect sense ... which is why the left doesn’t want it . They want the political issue , not its resolution . That’s the lunacy .

@TexChik If a teacher happens to be a gun owner and they're willing to carry a gun in class and their respective schools are willing to allow it, I'm sure there could be a compromise. But making it a requirement that all school teachers or even one or a few in each school should carry and know how to use a firearm, that's the lunacy.
@TexChik I hope you know I don't mean it personally, but I seriously heard the twighlight zone music when I read this.

You may want your kids teachers to be selected for their marksmanship, but I'd kind of like my kids not to be educated by the best killers.

Guns at the door are one thing, but more guns inside of every nook and cranny is another.
@Carver only way i could think of without arming more people would be to give schools bulletproof glass, and have a room/corridor with metal/weapon detectors/cameras and security with doors that lock on either side. The cons being that this would take a long time for kids to get into school and would be expensive.
i can see a student stealing a gun from a teacher at some point in the future if that was the reality.
Carver · 31-35, F
@Gh0s1 I agree. Which is why having all teachers armed would be... inadvisable.
katielass · F
@Carver No one has ever called for unwilling teachers to carry a gun. There are teachers who are already gun savvy who would be willing. There is no need or desire to force someone to handle a gun.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@Carver Three cheers for crossfire in a heavily populated area filled with children. 🙌🙌🙌
TexChik · F
@Carver No one. absolutely no one is advocating requiring teachers to carry guns to school. The last thing anyone needs is a novice packing a gun to school. Trump clearly stated allowing qualified teachers to carry.
Carver · 31-35, F
@katielass Lol, yes they have! I didn't make that up...
katielass · F
@Carver No one has ever suggested we force unwilling teachers to handle guns. Period.
Carver · 31-35, F
@TexChik You can call it what you want, it's still having armed teachers in schools. 🤷
TexChik · F
@MistyCee how is hiding your head in the sand working for you? Has anything become safer ? Failure to act is why our kids are unprotected
TexChik · F
@Carver better to be armed putting rounds on the shooter rather than cowering in a corner begging not to be shot
Carver · 31-35, F
@katielass If you say so. 🙄
TexChik · F
@UndeadPrivateer Three graves for cowards unwilling to act
Carver · 31-35, F
This is where the comment section gets a bit more stupid for my liking so I'm gonna leave you guys to it. Play nice now. :*
katielass · F
@Carver The facts say so. If you can provide video evidence to the contrary I'll listen to it but no one has suggested anything so ludicrous.
TexChik · F
@katielass Here in Texas, the ability to arm depends on the school district. They just have to make the legislature aware and comply with the rules...Training, biometric gun vaults, marksmanship
