I did not know that.... Wasn't it signed as part of the allied treaty?

@Tracos Apparently there is a dispute over some islands that Japan had that Russia took over in WW II. The Kuril Islands. And so, they haven't officially ended the war with a treaty because of that technicality.
@Tracos technically this is true its over a handful of disputed islands.
However both countries signed an agreement ending hostilities and

No. They're still arguing over the Kuril Islands which the Soviets seized after declaring war on Japan on August 8, 1945.

At the Yalta Conference in February 1945, the Soviets agreed to declare war on Japan 90 days after the eventual surrender of Germany (which was on May 8th).
On August 8th, the USSR informed Japan that it would be at war with them the next day.
