Are you happy that John McCain is leaving office?

He is a war hawk and he pushed for war in Syria to topple Assad all while supporting US actions to arm and train Sunni Rebels to be the US government's proxy. These rebels targeted religion minorities and many of them joined ISIS.

Perhaps his brain cancer is Karma.

The image of McCain is a PR fantasy. He’s always been an ego driven power seeker putting himself first always.

@jackjjackson So when he refused to be released from the POW camp where he almost died, until those who were captured before him were released first, he was an ego-driven power seeker putting himself first always? Interesting.

How long ago was that? Of course that was a good selfless act. I described his political career of greed and self promotion. He got himself super rich at the expense of the public. His ego was gratified by the presidential nomination although he deservedly got hammered in the election. In terms of positive of positive accomplishments he is a cypher @snowbelt

@jackjjackson Why I would have to be a McCainite, to point out the obvious?

I like McCain as a person, but think his foreign policy positions are not well thought through, and he's too impulsive. Examples include Iraq war, Syria (wants to arm "moderate" Islamist rebels), and who can forget Palin?

...... all in the futile hope of self promotion @Northwest
