What is the purpose of immigration?

@SW-User Like the locals who sit at home on their three college degrees complaining they can't find work in their field? But, they aren't going to take any of the jobs that the newly arrived are willing to do. They have college degrees, they deserve better than picking fruit or cleaning out sewers.

@SW-User really? How come no white American borns are accepting the picker jobs in the fields? Many immigrants have stopped picking out of fear of deportation but no Americans are applying for the jobs.The vegetables are rotting in the fields and the ones that DO get picked are becoming unaffordable... I highly doubt they'll be applying for service jobs either. That is an inaccurate comment

@Fernie Because those jobs pay next to nothing. It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with economics.

@Fernie You made a judgement about White Americans that is racist and displays your own bias. Many White, Black and Latino Americans work in fields, especially young people in rural areas. I don't know how you could be proud of that.

@Serenitree She made a judgement that White Americans wouldn't do the job and that is why we need illegal immigrants. She should take a trip to Kentucky to see all of those White, Black and Latino teenagers working the Tobacco fields.

@Einstok To be honest, I saw nothing indicating anything about white people or people of any colour or nationality. Just immigrants vs locals, any of which could be any colour.
