People emigrate for more opportunities to improve their lives.

@bijouxbroussard Indeed, but what is the purpose for the host country?
bijouxbroussard · F
@Einstok It depends on the country. The U.S. has been a land of immigrants since it was established.
Einstok · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Yes, but that was originally intended to populate and develop. The purpose itself changed with the generations.

@Einstok And apparently with the people who were needing to come. The fact of people needing asylum hasn’t changed.

@bijouxbroussard Fair enough. However you are only focusing on the inflow and not the regulatory infrastructure to why we allow people to come in the first place.

@Einstok That’s why I said that it depends on the country. I mean, with ours people just showed up and as long as they were from Europe there was no problem. Immigrants from other parts of the world have prompted exclusion acts and restrictions.
