Is the Incel movement the natural consequence of feminism?

If so, should Incels be provided with compliant female clones? Or Filipino women?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
It's a big social problem but it's not down to feminism.

The decline of monogamy means that some men get a lot more sex than others, especially when they are young. Some men sleep around whereas others are left celebate. Female dating behaviour tends to cluster around the mean average, whereas male dating 'success' is more likely to be one extreme or the other.

The alt right incels blame this on feminism. The argument goes that because women have more power and more choice now, an inevitable result is that some men will form a sexual underclass. The incels therefore hate women personally and hate feminism politically. Also, the Internet means that many of these young men develop this unhealthy group think and move further away from understanding women as people. Not all men can be Chad but very few women are Stacy, though in their isolated world d such primitive views can make sense.

I think that a lot of the dedate around this issue lacks maturity and that the actions of some people are more likely to reinforce reactionary attitudes. If an incel is told that they are a loser and that it is their fault, then they are more ikely to go down the manosphere rabbit hole. Society does not like men who show vulnerability and reactionary anger is often a result of unresolved insecurity. In the first instance, the incels are right to say that they are in a disadvantaged position and are also right to say that people show a lack of toleration towards them which would be afforded to other 'minority groups'. People with other problems are shown more undestanding and less judgement. They are at the bottom of a brutal hierarchy and also in a position which allows them no progressive kudos nor any sympathy.

Where the political incels are wrong, is to believe that they are entitled to force another human being to have sex with them. It's based on the idea that men are entitled to sexual autonomy (and abundance) yet women are merely sexual objects who are subservient to the needs of men. The political incels want to replace one social hierarchy (of sexual desirability) with another more reactionary one in which their problems are solved by coertion. They want to swap Fight Club for the Handmaid's tale.

Real solutions to this problem are hard but I think legalised prostitution is one potential answer. I also think society needs to remove the shaming of men who (for whatever reason) are not having sex. Also, young men need to be taught to improve other aspects of their lives in order to be an effective partner. When women hit their late twenties, priorities change and most of them are more concerned with finding a responsible father to their children than a 'Chad'. Though for young men on the Internet, that is a difficult thing to see.

@SW-User Yes maybe you’re right.

@Burnley123 Perfect well rounded answer in my book.

@Burnley123
They want to swap Fight Club for the Handmaid's tale.
This about sums it up. Bottom line, is that there is this whole InCel thing, is self-made, and legalized prostitution may not be the solution. If Mnuchen, can find himself a wife, certainly any InCel can take a shower, brush their teeth, and have a decent conversation with someone, even if it's online.

I think anyone who blames feminism for hurting someone is just an abuser to begin with and uses it as an excuse. The reality is most people have never met a feminist. For instance in all my 30 years of living I've only ever met two vegans and one self identified feminist. Most people who claim to hate feminism will just rehash what they see in the news or various right winged youtubers and say "LOOK see! Their evil!"

Yet people act like their all over the place. They blame them for "sexual" advertising (even though that form of advertising is because of ONE person in history and has something to do with capitalism.) Never mind the facts though.

If men just gave us equal rights since the beginning, there really wouldn't be such thing as feminism. If women always were equal there would have been no Magdalene Laundries, which shouldn't have existed in the first place. Women who were raped was seen as a "scandal" and sent there, same with women who never wanted to get married.

No, they should get over themselves and accept that the world doesn't owe them shit.
supersnipe · 61-69, M
No, that's looking for something to blame. The whole 'incel' thing started out as a support network for solitary men; but once something proliferates on social media there is the chance that it'll get hijacked and that's what has happened here.
Einstok · 36-40, M
No. Incels are social undesirables. Undesirables have always existed. Every society has a class of men that because of their look, economic status or behavior are undesirable to women.
SW-User
@Einstok Thanks to the power of the Internet, they can now find each other. That's all.
Einstok · 36-40, M
@SW-User That's fine. Maybe they can join a support group or spend the time to figure out what is wrong with themselves and change.
SW-User
@Einstok I feel part of the problem is that they have been told for a very long time that they are fine the way they are, and that they are told by family and peers that they 'deserve to have' a nice girl or woman. So it sticks in their head that if they stay the course, they will get the girl. However we all know that's not always the case. So is it completely their fault?
Cierzo · M
The natural consequence of feminism is that men and women live apart from each other, very few children are born, and population decreases.
Cierzo · M
@Einstok But bear in mind that feminism is strong in certain societies, and not in others. So SOME populations will decrease, while in other parts of the world women breed like rabbits.
Einstok · 36-40, M
@Cierzo Indeed. But, technology will replace most people in our societies anyway. The others will overpopulate and die through starvation, just like in Somalia.
Cierzo · M
@Einstok That's why I claim technological development must be stopped until we are fully aware of the consequences and find a solution for the millions of jobless people it will create.

I love incels. I like their rants. I could read their self-indulgent forum posts for hours, while having some tea, or kissing my man from time to time.
DrBenway · 61-69, M
@helenS we'll have to make the Incel make a special effort and force him to comb is hair. And wash maybe.
helenS · 36-40, F
@DrBenway Insufficient. He’ll still be ugly, and you know – women love only good-looking men.
DrBenway · 61-69, M
@helenS poor Incel:( You better hope he doesn't go nuts and do something crazy.
SW-User
No, it is the consequence of the internet and the culture of victimhood.

No idea what you’re talking about. “Incels” ?
Einstok · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard I know quite a few middle aged women that say they would die to be a housewives. They may be romanticizing it a bit.
@Einstok Yeah, they’re saying it because they’re not. The key is having a choice.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Incels are part of an online subculture that kind of grew after Elliot Rodger, for instance the Toronto van attack was related to the Incel group. They are the same as MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way,) and the red pillers.

Apparently Elliot Rodger is their Patron Saint where they devote pages to him on social media platforms. A few of their members have hurt women before because as the New Yorker writes, it's not about sex, it's about supremacy.
How is Rodger idolised by his fans?

He has been virtually canonised by some fringe communities online. A mock film trailer for "The Supreme Gentleman" in his honour, cut from his clips, was still available on Wednesday on YouTube almost four years after its original upload.

Several versions of these videos, which the BBC raised with YouTube, have now been deleted.

"We encourage anyone who sees material that they think crosses the line to flag it for us," YouTube said.

But lots of fan videos about the rampage killer, and his old YouTube channel, still remain online.

T-shirts of selfies with him posing in sunglasses could also be purchased online through international self-print clothing retailer Redbubble on Wednesday.
