And, of course, Obama went to Havana and met with Raul Castro and took in a ballgame with him (not Fidel, who was by that time quite ill).

I actually don't think any of the meetings was that big a deal.

It's just the hypocrisy of those criticizing Trump for the congrats call to Putin that it silly.

Obama took the time to go meet with those men (Erdogan, Iran's foreign minister and Raul Castro). Trump made a couple minute phone call.

Yes, that was the whole point.

Not that Putin is a saint. He's probably the most dangerous person in power to emerge in Russia in a long time.

It's just that I see no reason to any more criticize Trump for making that phone call than for Obama meeting with Erdogan, Mohammad Javad Zarif or Raul Castro.

As I said, not complaining about Obama for the handshakes. (There are plenty of things I [b]can[/b] complain about him, but not this.)

It's the hypocrisy I'm talking about from my party and the talking heads in the media.

(I also haven't heard or seen anything to indicate that Obama criticized Trump for calling Putin.)
