Has Trump's decision on Iran put America on the path to war?

Bernie Sanders thinks so. This looks like Iraq mark 2.

no the europeans are trying to fix stuff with giving iran better deals...

if anything this has isolated america and they are now the4 bad guys in the conflict
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Madgirl Yes but that doesn't mean America won't invade. Iraq happened without the French
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@Burnley123 it would mean there could be UN sanctions agaisnt the usa. and also russia and china would have a field day...

not saying trump isnt gonna do it anyway
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Madgirl It would weaken the US global position, as Sanders says. It doesn't mean Trump won't do it though.
GunSmoke9 · 56-60, M
@Madgirl Why would the Europeans want to give Iran a better deal? America and Europe should push for tough sanctions.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@GunSmoke9 america broke a deal... they are the bad guys in this scenario

also in the last few months america made it clear that they no longer care for europeans as partners
jackson55 · M
That's not true, and the agreement with Iran was never rattified through congress. It was basically a gentlalmans agreement.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 dont care what kind of problems you have inside your country...

if your leader signs a treaty its binding... if you back out of it it means you arent trustworthy of future contracts
jackson55 · M
[@ There was no agreement signed between the US and Iran.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 uhm... yes there was a treaty signed

EDIT: and not just between the usa and iran... plenty other countries signed too
jackson55 · M
[@ Nope, wrong. A treaty has to be rattified through congress and it never was. Obama knew it would never pass congress. It was verbal agreement. Nothing was ever signed.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 no... thats nonsense... no congress or minitry or whatever institute a country has has anythgin to do with it...
noone outside the usa cares about your senate congress house thing...

your representive signs it... and thats it... if you step back you are showing the world you arent trustworthy for whatever reason.. maybe cause you dont have your shit together which isnt any better
jackson55 · M
[@ Belive what you want, but there was never anything signed official or otherwise between the US and Iran.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 lol... you making stuff up here.

anyway the result is the same... the diplomatic power of the united states is on the same level like somalia now
jackson55 · M
Not making it up. The deal John Kerry made with Iran was never agreed to by the US congress and it has to be to be a binding agreement or treaty. Obama and Kerry can't just make deals on their own. Iran is nothing more than a terrorist country exporting terrorism around the world. Why would anybody want to make a deal with em?
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 right now its the usa behaving like a hysterical kid throwing a tantrum... noone wants to make deals with dealbreakers that dont even know how their own system works.
jackson55 · M
[@ You and I will have to agree to disagree. I do know how it works in the US. Presidents can't go make deals on their own with no approval from congress.
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 yeah and that is exactly why the usa isnt trustworthy
jackson55 · M
@Madgirl Many of the things Obama did was by excitive order. That's so he doesn't have to deal with congress. They are not binding and can be undone. Excitive orders don't work for international agreements. Obama was not the king of the US, he was the president and to make international deals they have to be agreed to by the US congress. If Trump makes a deal with Iran or North Korea it will have to be agreed to by the US congress or it will be no deal just like the one between Obama and Iran.
What country do you live in?
Madgirl · 26-30, F
@jackson55 i am from germany, and if you send your president around putting his signature under pieces of paper everyone will assume they are a deal is a deal.

you better get your presidents under control cause otherwise noone is gonna believe you
jackson55 · M
[@ That's what we've been talking about. Obama didn't sign anything and Kerry didn't have the authority to make a deal that the house and senate didn't agree to. Everybody has to be in agreement for there to be a deal and a real treaty. Iran doesn't want to give up their nukes and anyone that thinks they will are nuts. Even in the fantasy world that there was something signed what makes you think that Iran would pay any attention to it? They cheat just like North Korea cheats. Being nice to them isn't going to solve anything. They see it as weekness.
