Police Taser a Naked Man to Death to Prevent Him from Harming Himself?

This is the kind of think that is not only sad but incomprehensible!

Show his "hands"? Really?

He's freaking NAKED in the shower!

Disturbing bodycam footage shows police taser a mentally ill man 18 times, while he is standing naked in the shower, before he collapses screaming in pain and dies
WARNING: DISTURBING CONTENT
Adam Trammell, 22, died after police tased him 18 times on May 25, 2017
West Milwaukee police were called to his home to do a welfare check
A neighbor called 911 to say that Trammell was naked and threatening self-harm
Police used force to enter his apartment when he didn't open the door
Officers then encountered Trammell naked in his shower
When he failed to respond to orders to show his hands, police tased him 18 times
It took less than 30 minutes from first tase for Trammell to lose consciousness
Within an hour of police arriving, Trammell was pronounced dead
Officers Michael Rohleder and Anthony Munoz won't face charges, DA said

It's a bad, bad case. But here are two essential problems: First, police and other public safety personnel don't receive nearly the education they should - if they receive it at all - in mental disorders and crises. There are easily and readily available means of de-escalation, but most officers view a psychotic break as tantamount to criminal resisting.

Secondly, we can't simultaneously call for extremely militarized police departments and expect them to approach any scene with calm and nonviolent intention. Every call is a battering ram through the door, a dozen guns pulled, percussion grenades and Tasers. My local department - in a two of 60 thousand, has a tank. A tank. We train police to expect a battle at every call, and while safety and preparation are vital, the fact is police are helpers as much as they are defenders. The same units trained for bio-terrorism and bombs isn't likely to approach a confused individual with any nuance of service. It's simply not considered a "sexy crime." Departments, more and more, attract those looking for a fight.
Same ol shit, beat a homeless man to death, do the pit maneuver on a car with 3 kids in it at over 100 miles an hour, nothing will ever change until police are held accountable for their actions but that's not going to happen. By militarizing the police and letting them get away with murder the politicians and elite are indoctrinating the police so when Politicians say round up a whole group of people the police will do it without any questions at all.

Cops are overworked, underpaid and work in a very stressful environment. I am not defending their actions. Their reprehensible. But something needs to be done.

@Thevy29 This my friend is not by default but by design so a overworked cop gets sick of his job and commits mistakes which are coverd up so now he becomes his masters doggggggggg..no guesses who this master would be!!

Defies logic. Disgusting behaviour from the police.

Thats disgusting

@Moosepantspatty "Disgusting"?

It's absolutely horrible and inhumane!

But because the poor man was mentally ill and not some druggie resisting arrest, the national news media will pay little to no attention about it.
Moosepantspatty · 36-40, M
@beckyromero absolutely! Im very troubled that the officers will face no charges over this.

A taser should never be used to subdue someone whos in the water at all! Let alone 18 times! Thats practically guaranteed to be lethal!

Bahahahahahaha! "Stop! Don't kill yourself, or I'll kill you!"

Sad thing, yes. The irony is just so palpable. Although, not obeying police orders is a good way to get killed. They gave an order to see his hands, for their own safety. He did not. They took him down, just in case he had a weapon.

It's a shame, but shit like that happens.

@Tatsumi How about simply not breaking into the guy's apartment in the first place?

Where's the warrant?
