If the democracts win in the midterms, does this mean impeachment for Trump?!

Since I’m ignorant in political procedures, I’m curious about this possible event.

Trump won't get impeached. I know lots of people hope so but he would have to do something "while in office" to get impeached and he has done nothing wrong while in office. Sure has has done things before but right now he is just being president and working at that. Every president has made mistakes becoming the person they were. We as a nation have just gone too far in our judgement and acceptance of people we put in office. People assume too much. Mueller really has nothing on Trump because there is nothing there. I know many people hope there is but there just isn't. If there was anything, it would have hit the news by now and everyone would know.

@joesand99 He could be impeached for anything illegal, committed while not in office (and uncovered while in office), or things he did before he took office, and while not illegal, he lied about, under oath, while in office.

Like the moron Bill Clinton. While the BJ was not illegal, lying about it under oath was.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@joesand99 How do YOU know Mueller has nothing? Has he been speaking to you? Watergate took three years and Nixon was re-elected in that time but resigned rather than be impeached.. Clintons took I think two years...Mueller is in no rush. But I'm sure you'd have given Obama a similar benefit of the doubt if the same accusations had been leveled against him.. Trump led the charge and said he paid for a private detective to throw up shit that Obama wasn't American..funny how Trump changed his mind about that eh?
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@HerKing I know because if there was something then it would have leaked. We would have heard something. Nothing will come of this other than the side figures getting in trouble for marginal/illegal business practices like has already happened. There is no substance to this at all. Just My opinion. Trump may very well self destruct because he has a large ego that needs to be fed. If that happens then it happens and all the Trump haters will finally be happy. I personally don't care either way but I have my opinions and don't judge others for the opinions they have.
HerKing · 61-69, M
@joesand99 Nothing has leaked from Mueller. Zero..The first time anyone knew Manafort, Flynn and Gates were going to court was a few minutes before they rolled up outside to go in.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 On behalf of everyone, thanks for sharing the details of the investigation and research you have labored over for so many months. It's always rewarding to hear the results from the person who did all the work.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul I appreciate your compliments. Thank you.
@MarkPaul lol! Ur so funny Paul! These are simply opinions by ppl on many sides! ( lol! Many sides!!!?) . Let’s wait for Muellers final report now that he has added Cohens info ok?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Shewolfiie69 That's really my point. These tin-foil hat nuts (no offense to anyone) are making it sound like they have not only conducted the investigation themselves, but have all the facts based on what they were told to think.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul @Shewolfiie69 See Mark you have your point but you don't listen to others. Shewolfiie69 was being nice and saying we all have opinions but you chose to ignore her and ignore that and then to insult anyone who doesn't agree with your opinion. I may disagree with you but I have not insulted you. I won't start now. That is the type of stuff that lost hillary the election. You can speak out but you can't be mean. People get tired of that. You can't say tin-foil hat nuts (no offense to anyone) and not expect people to be offended. It does offend people but you continue to try to drive your point until people will agree and so they vote the other way. Try being kind and state your facts and opinions and then move on. This is just another form of bullying and it doesn't work.
@MarkPaul that’s why u have the Best Answer! Thx for ur wise and knowledgeable responses!!! My hats off to u! Ur wise beyond ur years!!!
@joesand99 Thx for ur words! The way we are disrespecting each other ( even if I don’t agree with but defend ur right to express ur opinion!) makes me think that this was Putin’s plan from the beginning! Dividing us instead of being united and strong... pity.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@Shewolfiie69 Putin didn't do this. Lack of common courtesy and not respecting others opinions did this to us. The nation is too polarized to come together and solve things and work on them. We have to stop blaming others and blame ourselves.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 I wonder if you might be over-dramatizing and over-reacting to conversational comments. And, once again, thanks for establishing what all people think, the definitive reason why Hillary lost the election, and how voting dynamics work. You certainly do seem to know everything. I wonder if voters ever tired of that. I imagine only you would know that.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul Nice to see you are reading the comments. You did insult people and now tried to play it off by belittling me and my comments. That also won't work. I never said I did the work. I just have my opinion. You are free to disagree but try to be constructive and add to the conversation instead of insulting others and belittling them. That is not productive and not attractive. We are all unhappy about things at times but that does not give us a right to lash out at others. Just so you will know, I voted for Bush twice and he disappointed me. I voted for Obama twice and he disappointed me. I voted for Trump and so far am not disappointed. That doesn't mean I won't be sometime in the future. I am not a liberal or a conservative. I try to get informed and vote for who I think will do the best job. Does Trump have a past and some issues? Heck yes. But in my opinion, I wanted someone from outside of the lifetime politico to get in and see what they could do. Last time we did that, I believe it was Jimmy Carter. He was a good man but not a president. He was right at the time for the country but it didn't last. I wish you all the best!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 Usually, the people who complain the most and the loudest about someone not being constructive, is literally the least constructive person in the bunch. Simply handing out generic advice while pretending to be an expert doesn't make you an expert. I suspect you already know that. The real question is if you have self-discipline to alter your approach so you stop coming across as a close-minded know-it-all.

I appreciate knowing your voting record. I don't know that bouncing from one candidate to another regardless of party necessarily proves much in terms of how unbiased you seem intent to exhibit yourself as being.

It's fantastic you are happy with the candidate your voted for and that you reserve the right to change your mind later. Perhaps you think you are the only one who has the capacity to do that. Just in case you do though, I have run into many people who have that exact same capacity. In any case, that doesn't change the fact that trump is a lying moron/idiot.

Be kind to others!
joesand99 · 41-45, M
It was so kind of you @MarkPaul to state your facts on the current president. He may be a liar but all presidents have been and will continue to be. He is no idiot and is of above average intelligence. Moron is a subjective term and usually derogatory and fits your method of communication. I personally think he is not a moron but again, that is just my opinion. You say it is a fact and you are wrong sir. The dictionary defines moron as a stupid person. He is by no means stupid. Egotistical, vain, proud, some of these come to mind but your facts on the president are wrong in 2 of the 3.

Never claimed to be an expert and I will state for the 5th time that it is only my opinion. I can't believe you won't hear that. Just admit that you are liberal, hate trump, and want to impose your opinion on everyone and you think people who don't hate Trump are also stupid. Once you do that, you may be able to admit you are being rude and insulting and twisting words to match your own agenda.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 [sigh] Once again, you think you know everything, but seem to showcase what you don't know. You don't have to claim to be an expert; I never "charged" you with that crime. I am of the position that you come across that way through the way you communicate your ideas. Can you live with that?

trump is a failed businessman, has demonstrated a lack of understanding of history, spelling, grammar, hiring ability, and common sense. Even though the people attributed to making the comments now softly deny it, he's been called an idiot and moron by people in his own Administration who were selected by him.

I'm neither a liberal or conservative and although I don't have the longevity of a voting record that you boast about, I also have supported candidates from both parties from time-to-time. If you look at trump's voting record and political support he also doesn't fit any of the nice and neat categories you seem obsessed with assigning to people. At this point, do you even know what you are supporting?

I don't hate anyone nor do I encourage anyone to hate. Hate resolves nothing. Your desire to paint me with that "hate brush" only causes me to question your sincerity regarding your intentions that much even more. I now doubt you are as genuine or pure in intentions as you seem to want to convince yourself.

Finally, have you considered where you rank on your rude scale? Or, is that scale something you only arbitrarily apply to others with the arrogance such an exercise for yourself is beneath you?
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul oh the sigh...too cute. You don't see calling people tin foil wearing as rude? You don't see belittling my comments as rude? You don't see the [sigh] as rude? They are all rude. I have not said a rude word to you and won't. Again your opinion of Trump is your opinion. I respect that you have one. Please respect mine and don't insult me? That isn't too hard. I like debate. If you want to give facts and tell them to the thread and the others reading that do it. Try to do it without insulting them.

If I have been rude, then I sincerely apologize. I don't think I have so maybe you can point that out to me? I am not too prideful to admin when I am wrong.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 OMG.. Dude... stop criticizing, condemning, and complaining and pointing out everything you don't like about my comments. Your messages drip with condescension, are sprinkled with arrogance, and presented on a bed of know-it-all attitude. I am certain if you take the time to read your own messages you will see instances where that is true.

The "tin-foil hat" comment was mostly a throw-away line intended to highlight people who have deep seated beliefs that aren't based in factual data. You can decide if you are guilty, but your reaction to that one line seems to indicate quite a lot. If that hurt your feelings, then I am sorry you feel that way. I hope you will accept my apology.

trump's lies are too numerous to mention (over 2000 just since he's taken office), but in case random tin-foil is interfering with your news reception...

1. trump claimed Obama was not American.
2. trump's claim about the size of his inaugural crowd.
3. trump's claim about how successful he was as a businessman.
4. trump's claim the government's unemployment rate is bogus when he was a candidate is now suddenly accurate now that he is president.
5.trump's claim is campaign was self-funded. He accepted and used donated money.
6. trump claimed he previously met Putin, then denied, then said he did, then said he didn't.
7. trump claims Chrysler is moving a major plant from Mexico to Detroit. Chrysler denies having such a plan.
8. trump claims he had limited dealings with Michael Cohen. Records show his camapaign spent over $200,000 paying for legal invoices from Michael Cohen.

... and this is just a very small sampling of trump lies. You can do the work and find the other 2000+. Presumably, you know how to research (and I say that as compliment to you).
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul I am pretty sure I admitted Trump was a liar. Did you read my comment at all?
So the tin foil was a throw away but then you used it again later. Just have to take a jab don't you? Let that go and people with listen to you more. Insults just turn people off.
You think I was being condescending? I reread all my comments and don't see it. Please feel free to point it out to me.
If you are tired of this then you can stop. I like debate.
I offered for you to point out my being rude. I am Christian and I am kind. I have been nothing but kind to you. I have taken the time to point out specifics of your comments that I found offensive or not true and told you my logic behind them. Again, my opinions.
I am not a know it all but I also am not an idiot. I share my opinions and ideas.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 What are you intentions?
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul I have no intentions and no agenda at all. Just want the country to come together despite our different opinions and be kind to each other and for the government to get something done to help the people. I didn't like obama bashing and I don't like trump bashing. Probably because I am a veteran I feel that we as a country need to respect the chain of command. Politicians won't work together.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 We won't be able to work together until we find a leader who wants to and is capable of bringing us together... or sadly until a crisis occurs that forces us together. I want the leader option.
joesand99 · 41-45, M
@MarkPaul Valid point but I truly believe that we need tolerance in our mindsets. Once a president is elected then let's work with what we have instead of just fighting all the time. It isn't the leader as much as it is the public that elected the leader.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@joesand99 Based on history, what you recommend is a recipe for an authoritarian take-over. Democracy is not for the faint-of-heart. It is intended to be messy, encourage in-fighting, and avoid enforced mindset toleration. It is why democracy is on the decline around the world. It requires people to get off their fat asses and speak out for what they believe. The very nature of checks and balances is intended to prevent becoming complacent with what we have.
