In responce Trump was threatening N K and Iran today. It's like in the Republican campaign when the boys were talking about how long their fingers were.

A reason for reminding each other that they have nukes is to remind all players that if they try to nuke somebody they get nuked back no doubt. It's the mutual threat that keeps nuclear war at bay since WW2. It's not about who has the flashy car it's about reminding the ones who already showed their car that they are not the only one in the race.

Firstly, I'd take Russia's reports of their own armament with a grain of salt.

Secondly, I don't think any of them actually understand with any depth what a nuclear weoapon is. It's a big boom and a political tool for them.
