One of our strengths as a nation is that we have people of all faiths, education levels, racial backgrounds, ancestry, genders, sexual preferences, etc. Everyone brings their own perspective and life history to the voting booth. Every citizen who turns 18 should be automatically registered to vote, and we should make voting as easy as possible to ensure that our democracy is truly the voice of ALL of the people. To shut out welfare recipients, or any group, from voting diminishes the rest of us.

@snowbelt Our nation is becoming weaker not stronger.... i find it funny people think were going somewhere positive in the future when economist are literally telling people we are making shitty decisions. we are more conflicted with each other and we will collapse soon

@PiceousPanda Voters make crummy decisions on occasion. Voting in Trump was one such instance. But there is no way to ensure that good decisions are always made by taking certain groups of voters out of the voting pool. There has always been political disagreement, and there should always be some level of disagreement, because it is healthy and acts as a check against wrongful actions of the people in power.
The bottom line is that bad decisions can always be reversed or mitigated, but only if people are aware, and voting.

@PiceousPanda i'm involved in politics,i wont say which party,i dont open the door to another debate,,,,,most if not,,welfare people dont vote anyway,,,,actual free loaders dont care about this country either,

@snowbelt the problems we have now is due to trying to take care of everyone. starting with women.
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@PiceousPanda Our problems are multi-faceted. A civilized society ensures its weakest citizens don't fall through the cracks.

@snowbelt and that is why we all fall in a big giant hole. you people will never get it. u are looking for shot term solutions that will hurt us long term. we dot have the money to take care of everyone instead of finding solutions to encourage sucess in everyone long term u want to destroy this nation for short term comfort. then the cycle repeats itself
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@PiceousPanda The recent tax cut for the wealthy is a good example of short-term thinking at the expense of the long-term. That's much more destructive than providing legitimate welfare in cases where it is needed.
PiceousPanda · 26-30, F
@snowbelt rather than blaming donald trump realize he is in a situation where people will hate him regardless. no one can be pleased. we dont have money for welfare. we continue to borrow money from other nations to supply shit we dont have
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@PiceousPanda We do need to cut costs, but it would make more sense to raise taxes on the wealthy than to give them the biggest tax cut in history. You can't balance the budget on the backs of the poor. It just doesn't work.
PiceousPanda · 26-30, F
@snowbelt raising taxes will only make it worse not better. the wealthy can not pay for all the shit we owe! peoople want to do what u believe and it has gone nowhere.
snowbelt · 61-69, M
@PiceousPanda The tax cut took money we didn't have and gave it to the top 2% of the wealthy. Obviously that doesn't bother you in the least to give them money we don't have. However, you'd gladly take it away from people who need it who are poor. You make no sense. Your argument clearly isn't based on what we can afford, or you wouldn't support tax cuts that are unaffordable.
