Which is more important to you, having guns or the lives of your children?

Gun related death is third leading cause of death for children after car accidents.

@MrBrownstone

Nah man. We blame the access to guns made expressly for killing people.

@MrBrownstone That's a very silly analogy.

If vehicles were designed purely to kill they would have been banned a long time ago (here, anyway) They have a use that's needed in general society. Bombs are illegal anyway, aren't they? Guns are weapons designed purely for the purpose of killing - they have no practical use other than that for most people so banning them from general ownership makes perfect sense.

It's not about blaming the gun; it about denying the general public access to the perfect killing tools when there is no other practical purpose, or need, for them in society.

@Pikachu Because criminals would obey the law. Got it.

@fazer1k So lets ban cars so children don’t get killed in accidents.

@MrBrownstone Cars have practical uses in society and their benefits are deemed to outweigh any drawbacks. Guns are designed to kill and have no practical use other than that. Guns are not needed by the general public. Guns and cars are not comparable which is why the analogy is ridiculous.

Why do you folks always make this absurd argument?
Of course criminals could still get these guns.
How is that an argument not to make it harder for them? How is that an argument not to make it harder for these high school students who want to shoot up their school to get them?

Try again.

@MrBrownstone Seriously? Lots of things change throughout history as technology, lifestyles and society advances. His view may have been appropriate for the time, but it is very short-sighted when applied to current society.

(Many people at that time still believed slavery was okay as well - policies must change with the times.)
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@fazer1k Go ahead and give up all your guns then.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@MrBrownstone Of course. I don't have or want any. Lives are what matters.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@fazer1k Except your own in a home invasion. Got it.
