What's the beef with people who choose not to vote?

@MrBrownstone What do you think the electorate is? Most states require that all electoral votes go to the candidate who receives the majority in that state. It's a matter of balancing numbers, not deciding differently than the people.

@Graylight while i no longer think the electoral college is needed for what the founding fathers created it for now, graylight is right. electorates can not just choose whom they want. they are under oath to choose the candidate who had the most votes in the state. those who are not lawfully bound also swear to uphold that oath.

@Graylight well the reason for the electoral college was because of the lack of communication and the fear that people would be uneducated in state affairs. that is no longer relevant. so we should change to the popular vote.
