What would happen if Trump invited Putin to the U.S. for a state visit? Would the Democrats go nuts?

If you mean people who walk the walk when it comes to our nation's security and future...yeah. I guess so.
@Ynotisay This is what Trump said last July about inviting Putin to the U.S.
U.S. President Donald Trump may soon take his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin to the next level—specifically, to the White House. Trump, speaking to journalists Wednesday on a flight to Paris, said he would eventually invite Putin to visit in Washington.

“At the right time,” Trump said, according to a transcript shared by Politico. “I don’t think this is the right time, but the answer is, Yes, I would. Look, it’s very easy for me to say, ‘Absolutely, I won’t.’ That’s the easy thing for me to do, but that’s the stupid thing to do. Let’s be the smart people, not the stupid people.”
@flipper1966 I guess ignoring an almost unanimous vote by Congress to penalize Russia for election interference is what 'smart people' do too, huh?
@Ynotisay You're forgetting: Trump is a genius.

@flipper1966 I haven't checked his Twitter feed today for a reminder.
@Ynotisay . . . a very stable genius!

@Ynotisay And he just sold a bunch of arms to Ukraine. That won't make Vlad happy. But just blissfully read the news that fits your narrative and ignore the rest.

@flipper1966 It's March 2018, not "last July."
@lamppost Huh? The quote is from a Newsweek report from last July. Get a grip, sir.

@lamppost Do I know you bud? Do you know anything about me? No? Then shove that shit.
@Ynotisay Uh-oh. Tough talk. That guy is a moron, btw.

@flipper1966 no, it's "..., like, a very stable genius." Note the commas.
@WoodyAq Sorry. You don't want to distort what Trump says. God knows, Trump would never distort. . . . Sorry, Donald.

@flipper1966 If he thought for one minute China or Russia posed a military or monetary threat, trust me. He'd have been on a plane within a week of being elected !

But 'they' (whoever's Presidency this really is !)decided he needed to do the 'European tour' thing. Remember ?

Trump NEEDS a 'bad guy'. That way you get to push all Congress's buttons for financing ! - Screw the deficit !

He tried it with Putin, Putin didn't bite !
Tried it with Kim, Kim didn't bite !
He knows folk at home won't put up with another long; drawn out; protracted mess in the Middle-east.
So then he tried re-igniting the old 'cold war'rhetoric.

Ironically (having recently said how much he admires Putin) this may actually suit BOTH Trump AND Putin !
As one rules at the behest of others and the other needs to look strong in front of his own people who are struggling.

As to which is which, you decide.
