Never mind the Obama and Hillary disgraceful excuse of an administration, with the dumocrates help of course of course.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@gregloa Yes... We get it... Bad.... Worse....WORST!!!
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@gregloa At least they could spell.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@gregloa You do realize right that Hillary was never President? This is a ranking of Presidents ... way to stay on topic.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@gregloa Obama ranked 8th overall, though Republicans had him 16th and Conservatives had him 22nd.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Pherick Never let the facts confuse the only rebuttal the Trump camp has.. There are always alternative facts.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pherick I know Trump beat her. Thank God.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@gregloa I am not sure you know that you seem abit confused about it.

Also, and I know you guys always forget this, Hillary won the popular vote :)
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pherick California is the popular vote. Everyone knows that. That’s why we have the electoral system so one state “California” can’t decide the National elections. Even so democrats always have a big advantage over republicans thanks to California. They really have to screw things up to lose the presidential election. And don’t even have the common sense to know why they lost. Seems you are a bit confused and collused. Probably all the fake news going around.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@gregloa I love this argument like for some reason the people of California and their votes don't count. Guess how many votes a person gets? I will help you, its just 1. No matter what state you live in, no matter your viewpoints or beliefs, you just get 1 vote.

Democrats don't have an advantage over anyone because of California, the number of people in California have 1 vote apiece. If you are upset too many people live in California, you are welcome to try and spread them out to other states, it won't affect the number of votes they get.

This isn't really that hard.
@Pherick

well said
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Pherick oh they count for the state, just not for the entire country. Maybe you could explain that to the dead people that voted for Obama. Their vote didn’t count when it was uncovered. Would you like to talk about trying to influence an election. Now democrats are trying to change the electoral system in Pennsylvania to give themselves an even bigger advantage. It’s not going to work. Democrats will keep screwing things up thus beating themselves heck who knows one day even California might end up a republican State. Hahaha yes when there’s not a democrat left standing in Washington to keep bailing out California ever few years.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@gregloa @Pherick @Pikachu I won't bore you with the math, but actually an individual vote in California counts less than in any of the other states because of the Electoral College. which gives each state a total number of votes depending on the population, plus two for their number of Senators. So the smaller states get more electoral votes than their strict population percentage would dictate, and the larger states get less. This is one of the arguments against the Electoral College.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@gregloa Dead people don't vote for either party. There is no evidence for that.

Pennsylvania was heavily gerrymandered in favor of the Republicans, so they could obtain over 13 of the 18 seats with half the vote. The court-mandated changes will level the playing field again so it is fair both ways, which is where it should be.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@gregloa No dead people voted for Obama. Good try though. If you think some did, please post a source for it. I am also talking about a "real" conspiracy here, not the dead people who were just never removed from the rolls, that's NOT the same thing. Being on the voting roster is NOT a vote.

We are changing the voting districts in PA because of severe gerrymandering, if you can't see that ... then just WOW. It is already being fixed, sorry. Here is a great article on the changes as well as some amazing interactive maps you can play with.

You really seem to have an issue with California, maybe you should read about how much California adds to our country, in pretty much every way. Including as of 2015 13.3% of our National GDP.

@windinhishair the electoral college makes it alittle more even, otherwise California and New York would determine the outcome of national elections.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@jackson55 You mean the PEOPLE in those states would determine the outcome. People, voting for a candidate, would determine the outcome of an election.

That doesn't sound too crazy to me. Kind of how it should be.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackson55 How so if everyone's vote was worth the same, whether you were in New York or Wyoming, using a straight vote? The Electoral College gives smaller states more influence per vote than the larger states.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@jackson55 exactly
jackson55 · M
@Pherick Then the states that don't have big populations wouldn't count for much, then it would be mob rule. The electoral college was put in place for that reason.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jackson55 An interesting definition of "even". Two of the biggest population and biggest economic drivers, having less say than their contribution in either area would justify..Rhode Island must be nice this time of year
jackson55 · M
@whowasthatmaskedman Sometimes you guys win, sometimes you don't. Get over it.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackson55 If you had a popular vote, huge numbers of Republican votes would count from California, instead of their 55 electoral votes all going to one party (most recently Democratic). You love the Electoral College now, because you've won two elections in the past five that you never would have won, but you'll have to keep sleeping in that bed when changing demographics kick in, and the electoral system favors the Democrats completely, making it impossible for Republicans to win the presidency. We're almost there now. I'm sure you'll just sit back and tell people how great the Electoral College is when you have no chance of winning any more.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@jackson55 If it were that simple everyone would. But when a mistake is this horrendous, everyone will lose. Right now the US tourism industry is expecting a turndown as overseas visitors stay away in droves and is discounting to try and make up the slack.. Even if local tourists take advantage, that is overseas money that will never see America. Add the trade deals he claims where bad for business. and watch how the world is working out it can bypass the US and get a better deal. And you can bet those deals wont be done in US$, so you dont even get your commission. The guy is bad for business.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman The world already knows it. 2/3 of the US knows it. It is only the last 1/3 of the population that supports trump completely and won't even look at the consequences. Fortunately, we can expect Mueller to issue his report sometime in the next year.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@windinhishair Depending on the results of the Mid Terms it may be a moot point.. There are enough rational Republicans out there to support impeachment in their own interests if the Republicans suffer badly in the House
