Things are escalating quickly, every world power is vying for real power. The Cold war was closer to Europe in the 18 hundreds, lots of skirmishes, not much total war.
War never ends, we haven't stopped since we wiped out the Neanderthals, and I think we started before then. Homo sapiens is good at two things, war and exploration, it's why we have conquered this place.

@SW-User The only difference is technology afaik. Hell, guerilla warfare and unconventional tactics have been around for hundreds of years

I'm just looking at it in terms of politicians... 12 years and many off the older politicians will be out by default.. This is their last run.. The new asshats will likely be far more full of themselves and too pompous to understand diplomatic relations on any level.. And be ruled strictly by a matter of self centered egotism... So my prediction is 12 years and the new generation of politics will be the perfect recipe for another world war...
