Why can't America get more Immigrants from Norway?

*Because they have an excellent universal health care scheme.
* Because they have a longer life expectancy than Americans.
* Because the recently ranked No 1 as the happiest nation on the planet (America comes in at 31)
* Because their nation has a trade SURPLUS of over a trillion dollars
* Because Donald Trump is not the President there.

Trump's first campaign manager, was on last night with Chris Cuomo. He said: 'why would we want an immigrant who makes $4K per year (referring to Haitians), if we can have an immigrant who makes $97K per year (referring to Norwegians'.

It took Chris Cuomo a minute to recover from the extreme assault on common logic, before he could respond.

This is the guy who ran Trump's campaign. Not sure how one can properly respond to this.

@Northwest 🤷 maybe he was trying to say difference in level of education

@SW-User It still does not compute, and it's even more insulting if that were the case. That would mean he's suggesting that a Haitian is not capable of achieving a high level of education.

This kind of thinking does not surprise me though. I remember a Trump interview with Diane Sawyer. He was comparing himself to Obama, and doubting that Obama would be able to get a degree from Columbia and Harvard, for no other reason than being black and having a Kenyan father.

not at all. just kind of weird to pick countries and say this country is better than that country. but in reality not all countries are equal in terms of education aswell as everything else. but what he said was pretty much a burn to haitians.

@SW-User On a per capita basis, not all countries are equal. Let's take Palestinians, for instance, they live in what Trump may qualify as a shithole, but they are far better educated (k-12 level) than us.

His statement was not about the country level, it was about individuals, and he did not bring up education. Someone with a PhD from Haiti, in their field, should be able to contribute at the same level as someone from Norway, with the same type of PhD. The only distinguishing factor is skin color, just as I said.
