I think Republicans need more well spoken presidents. Remember Bush?

"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."

"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream"

"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."

"I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here."

"We spent a lot of time talking about Africa, as we should. Africa is a nation that suffers from incredible disease."

"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

I like trumps one. " if you don't like me, fuck you!"

@emptysoul44 Have not heard that one. Was it when the shoe was thrown at him?

Yet another one from Dubya:

" ... make America what we want it to be - a more literate country and a hopefuller country."

I have a whole book of these, packed away somewhere. I hadn't heard this one.

@Byron8by7 Haha Bushisms are everywhere

I only remembered a few. I am sure there are tons of them online. The "making the right decisions" one is my favorite.

He had another one, something about "... federal cufflink." All of them are hilarious.

Another one from Dubya:

"We're making the right decisions to bring the solution to an end."

@Byron8by7 Hahaha Love it!

@Greenbare Bush was honest. It is hard to put food on your family. I have tried personally.

@Greenbare Spare me. I know what happened, I didn't die. Just relax.

i'd like to forget bush,

@SW-User

Yes, I agree - that is a good characterization.
@Bluesky53 Are you serious ? A “librial” ? That’s something Bush would’ve said.
Byron8by7 · M
@bijouxbroussard

Or liberial, or librarial, or something.

They don't have to be able to speak, to get us into devastating wars. Bush may look adorable, but the war he started in Iraq has turned the entire world into shit.
Whys0serious · 36-40, M
I thought Bush was adorable!

He was like a little monkey man 😌
SW-User
@Whys0serious Bushisms are the best!
Byron8by7 · M
@Whys0serious @SW-User

There used to be a website about Bush, called "The Smirking Chimp."
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
Yes, I realize now that we really did misunderestimate him, lol
SW-User
@Zaphod42 Really did
katielass · F
Why don't you volunteer to teach grammar. Once you have mastered it.
SW-User
@katielass That would be a great idea! Thanks!
Tminus6453 · M
Hahaha, Those are some real gems for sure...🙊🙈
SW-User
@Tminus6453 Trump is not far behind. Maybe the R rated version of Bush 😁
akindheart · 61-69, F
bush was also crucified. now he paints
And the sad part is, I’ve gained a whole new respect for George W. As inept as he was as president sometimes,
I never thought he was a racist.
I never thought he disliked women.
And I never thought he was trying to become a dictator. 🙁
Byron8by7 · M
@bijouxbroussard

At least he knew what he was supposed to be doing and understood the office to which he was elected. He respected the institution and the American people.
I'd only known about the last one until now.

Oh, but you forgot the one about "misunderestimate"

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP "Tribal sovereignty means that; it's sovereign. I mean, you're a—you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And therefore the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities."
