So if pot is a gateway drug to worse drugs, but it also one of the worst drugs out there since its schedule 1 along w heroin.

With that logic shooting someone in a game is as bad as doing it in real life since video games can be a "gateway" to real life violence

Let me start off saying I'm a chronic pot smoker and against all drug prohibition. I also believe cannabis has legit medical uses.

However lets' look at how the scheduling works. Drugs in the US are not scheduled by how dangerous they are. Schedule 1 is not saying one drug is more dangerous than Schedule 2/3/4/5. That's not how the system works. What Schedule 1 means is that the FDA and DEA have found no acceptable medical use for a substance. They aren't saying marijuana is more dangerous than Fentanyl, cocaine, and amphetamines. It is saying they accept they have a medical use while marijuana does not in the opinion of the FDA and DEA.

THC is schedule 2, while herbal and concentrated marijuana is Schedule 1.

@Sweetguy024 It does if one believes there is a morally acceptable reason for drug prohibition and that the government has the right even though it is not granted such a power in the Constitution.
The medical benefits of marijuana have only recently been found, so if one says drug prohibition is moral and warranted the system of scheduling them according to abuse potential and medical usefulness does make sense.

I however kind drug prohibition to be more destructive to society as a whole, UnConstitutional, and immoral.

@Sweetguy024 That's part of it but it goes so much deeper too. Basically in a nutshell it's scapegoat gold for politicians.
