Political Correctness. Is it a simple case of politeness, a means of controlling the masses, or something else?

It is a weak attempt to use fashion to exert power over large portions of population to assign high priority to low priority issues.

Seems a bit like control and trying to micro manage free expression.

Something else. It means that human beings have an overwhelming desire to be right and truth be hanged.

It's a tool used to help the implementation of Cultural Marxism in a more suitable way.

The latter, disguised as the former.

It's just politeness.

Forcing people to speak in a certain way - which doesn't exist in this country - is going to far. Inviting grace, character and consideration of others is simply common decency.

It all depends what you mean by the term.

If it means student no platforming bs or refusing to engage with contentious opinions, then it is wrong.

If it means having respect for people and being tolerant of others then it is a good thing.

Lecturing and virtue signaling are annoying, as is hiding racist views behind 'opposition to pc'

It's a response to the bigotry and small-mindedness of people with low levels of emotional intelligence. Like everything else some people take it too far.

I think it's the concept of not being purposefully rude taken to a point of ridiculousness and censorship.
