Why does Trump get so much hate from people?

I know criticism comes naturally with being a President, but it seems much worse and more widespread with him.

I personally just don't like his racism and how he galvanizes and doesn't denounce it
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SW-User he's not racist and he hasn't said anything racist.

@quietlitany So when he says Judge Gonzalo Curiel can't do his job right because of his MEXICAN HERITAGE, he still hasn't said anything racist and isn't a racist?
@quietlitany Trump is a racist piece of crap and has been going back 40+ years.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SW-User From what I'm gleaning from the hacks at CNN he's talking about judicial activism. This wouldn't be the first time they've taken his poorly worded comments, stripped them of nuance and context and presented as is. Also, Mexican isn't a race.

@bijouxbroussard Care to share? So far everything I've seen is taken out of context, such as the "Muslim Ban" that temporarily restricted travel from intelligence-selected countries that are overran with Jihahi activity or the "Mexican are rapists" bit where he was talking about a specific event of a Mexican who was illegally in the US, raped a US citizen, which he used for his stance on immigration. All poorly worded and certainly look bad without the context. Again, Mexicans and Muslims are not racial groups.

@quietlitany First off, Trump said it was a ban himself :v

Second, it was not twisted. Those were his words. Literally quoted.

I'd expect that there cannot be an excuse for that one

@SW-User Trump isn't articulate, which is why I don't argue with people citing incompetence. Trump is the kind of guy you have to listen to in order to understand what he's going on about. I get why people don't like what he says, but he was talking about the global war on terror from the Bush W. era that is still active today. Muslims aren't a race.

I know those are his words, but like I just pointed out here and previously, there's context. Judicial activism is a problem, that's how we got DOMA to stick so long, despite it being UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Context matters. Nuance matters.
@quietlitany His treatment of the last president , his treatment of the American-born judge hearing the Trump U case, whom he claimed couldn’t be unbiased “because he’s a Mexican”. The fact that during his campaign he used statistics posted on a Neo-Nazi website about black crime and when advised by both the DOJ and law enforcement that they were inaccurate, claimed it was “something he heard” and then continued to post them. His hesitation about denouncing white supremacists (when he never hesitates to express an opinion about anything) and the fact that those groups know he’s on their side. The comments he made during the attack on the Central Park Jogger incident and how, after the accused had served time and DNA exonerated them, Trump suggested they “remain in jail because they probably did something else”. His pardoning of racist Sheriff Arpaio, and his appointment of Jefferson Sessions for AG.
But from our last conversation I would never trust someone like you to ever be an ally against racism. You’re blind to the way any other people are treated in this world unless they’re white, I’m guessing.

@bijouxbroussard The birth certificate thing was an embarrassment and I personally made fun of him during that and during the start of his election. That wasn't racist though. Being a US Citizen is a requirement. Trump and Co just failed to realize Obama's mother is a US citizen.

Judicial activism is a thing and mistrials can occur if there is something proving bias. That's not racist and Mexican isn't a race.

The Neo-Nazi thing sounds like a load of shit, a.) is the info accurate, if so who cares, b.) did the neo-nazis actually collect the stats? I doubt that considering most aren't exactly learned people, c.) are you faulting him because someone else drew the same conclusion?

Why should he have to denounce anyone? The media was just trying to paint him with the racist brush and he didn't play their games. Trump doesn't control who supports him. You'd have a better aim with "not racist, but #1 with the racists" quip. Who supports him doesn't make him racist and I think it was smart not discounting people based on their beliefs. That's something that Hillary fucked up royally. Refusing to denounce a racist them doesn't make him a racist.

The jogger thing sound tedious and "something else" sounds like a criminal accusation, not anything racist.

Pardoning someone who's racist isn't indicative or racism. lol Bill Clinton pardoned the NYC bombers of FALN. Does that make him a terrorist? No, of course not.

Sessions isn't a racist either. I recall people trying to paint him as one, but all he did was disagree with some black/racial identity interest group, last I read, unless you got something else.

I am against racism, but you're right, I'm not an "ally" as I oppose witch-hunts. I'm an individualist and you're a collectivist. That's why we don't agree on this issue. I can separate myself from my race, can you? Don't take this as patronizing, it's not, but thanks for trying to give me examples. Most people would have just blocked me by now. You have my respect.
@quietlitany You have the luxury of being able to be seen as separate from your race. It’s called “white privilege” and it’s an advantage of not being a member of a racial minority group in a Western country. And it’s why you’re blind about what routinely happens to others.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard White privilege is a myth and a racist myth at that. I'm not blind, I'm just not a collectivist.
@quietlitany Like I said, you’re blind to those realities. So I’d expect no other reply.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Again, I have the ability to separate myself from my race. That makes me objective. Objectivity is not conducive to blindness. Being an "ally" and "being blind" as you cite racial myths is not conducive to objectivity. It requires sympathy to outside sources or the collective. You're forced to maintain, I'm free to express.
@quietlitany Again, you have that luxury because of an accident of birth that you’re too blind to even recognize. Just because you have been conditioned not to see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It just means you’re on the opposing side of an ongoing conflict and part of the reason racism will never end. A problem has to be acknowledged before it can be solved.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard You're basing my luxuries off my race. You don't know me. That's not objectively true. You're not being objective about any of this, but still insist I'm blind, because I don't obey a collective. The irony would be hilarious, but I actually like you, so it's just depressing.
@quietlitany I’m not assuming luxuries like wealth or power, etc. I’m not stupid. I simply mean there are things you can take for granted; that you won’t be racially profiled as a thief or criminal, or as being in the country illegally, for example. Whatever treatment you experience by the authorities may be because of your gender, but you can be reasonably certain it won’t be because of race.
I respect you so I am attempting to explain my perspective on this. There is a popular sitcom based in a NYC donut shop and while mostly the storyline is lighthearted there are serious bits. One scene illustrated just what being a minority means.
The characters’ friend, a police officer, is shot and wounded (not seriously, it turns out). When they receive the news the shooter has been caught, they look at each other.
“Please don’t let it be a black person,” the black character says.
“Please don’t let them be Latino,” says the Latina character.
“Please don’t let it be a Muslim”, says the Muslim character.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard Yet, I know what it's like to have people assuming I'm privileged based off my skin color, openly, and in the media, despite my experiences in life. The irony is, you don't know what its like being white.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@quietlitany Once again, I bow to your stamina and focus in taking on the whiny, entitled SJWs on this site. You are way way more patient than me, and it clearly bears fruit as you stay focused and they eventually have nothing further to say.

Excelsior!
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SumKindaMunster It's important issues, but she's alright. She actually tries to make points. I think as long as people are talking and sharing...hopefully listening, it's worth it. Thank you
@quietlitany Now, him I blocked. He’s never spoken with me but comes in with insults and condescension. No chance for a dialog there, alas. But thank you. I appreciate the talk. 🙂
