Yes when Nelson Mandela was freed. Everyone said and still do say he was a hero but he wasn’t .... he murderer people and imo was equally as bad as his oppressors. So yeah when I hear people saying Mandela is so wonderful and godly I say erm nope he wasn’t. Martin Luther king was cooler and a better man.

@SW-User I don't think Mandela was Godly but I really don't think you can compare him to the oppressors. The apartheid state was brutal. Mandela was a freedom fighter and had to be because his people were denied the vote.
SW-User
Do your research. Not true! Mandela has a very bad history that he really shouldn’t have made President for. @Burnley123

Mandela was no Christ nor even Gandhi nor Martin Luther King. He was for decades a man of violence. In 1961, he broke with African National Congress colleagues who preached non-violence, creating a terrorist wing.

He later pleaded guilty in court to acts of public violence, and behind bars sanctioned more, including the 1983 Church St car bomb that killed 19 people.

Mandela even suggested cutting off the noses of blacks deemed collaborators. His then wife Winnie advocated "necklacing" instead - a burning tyre around the neck.

Mandela argued the apartheid regime left him no option but to fight violence with violence, but it is too easy to claim events proved him right. His legacy is not yet played out.@Burnley123

@SW-User Do you assume ignorance just because I disagree? I know he used violence as a strategy, against a violent state and I would defend him on the grounds that there was no peaceful option.

Unless there is something specific that most people don't know about that you have 'researched' and we haven't

Nope, your words. Not mine, you asked the question. You clearly don’t like my answer. Different hats for different cats. 😉 @Burnley123

@SW-User You edited that heavily from the post which I replied to.

BTW, I also found the source which you copied that from:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/the-dark-side-of-nelson-mandela/news-story/68f4acdbf2b0b4e6c799e458a55e6cb2

I stand by my original view. Apartheid South Africa was an institutionally racist and violent state. There was no peaceful democratic route to power. Which Government was he a terrorist against and why?

As of his legacy still being played out; it's not only his legacy. Zuma is not Mandela solving the racism, poverty and inequality of that country were never going to be solved by one man.
@SW-User Are you an apartheid supporter or apologist, then ? I know such people exist. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi, with respect to them both, espoused nonviolence against violent people and both were assassinated. Fighting back against oppression seems to only be considered ignoble when people of color do it.

Lol, you expect me to take you seriously because you are pissed off about my responses. Grow the fuck up and have a discussion without bullying people to agree with your opinion. Lol next time don’t ask a question that your clearly not well equipped to deal with anybody who has an opinion different from yours. Re your edited comment ... BS and you know it. Lying to make yourself look good.Kinda like that profile picture of yours 😁lol @Burnley123

Pfff. I just think sources should be referenced because its a more honest way of doing things. Also note that you told me to do some research and your own research was copying and pasting someone's view, without acknowledging so.

I have no problem with you disagreeing with me, though I have also given my reasons why I think you are utterly wrong.

You have zero point to make right now. Fool@Burnley123

@SW-User Your trolling is too obvious. Are you drunk? 😝
SW-User
So now I’m trolling ? Dear me. Your very desperate to be “right” aren’t you. I got asked if I was drunk once .... when I was telling my manipulative lying sister some home truths.....funny that, you must be cut from the same cloth 😂😂😂😂😝🖕🏻😁@Burnley123

with respect, I think you need to be listening to advice rather than giving it. Probably from a therapist. I'm not just saying that to put you down. I do genuinely think you have problems.
SW-User
I know I have problems. My therapist told me to stay away from people like you! 😂😂😂😂 see ya 👋😎@Burnley123
