Can Muslims and secular or nonmuslim society coexist in peace?

Myamar, Europe, Africa, the Philippines, and the US to name a few seem to suggest that it is not. Regardless of how peaceful many religions, or sects of religions claim to be there appears to be a strong desire to wrestle control and be the dominant ideal of the"Truth".

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout they already did that, on a table made up a pile of bodies. That was when sunni's and Shiite's separated.

@Tastyfrzz You do realize Christians did the same right? I mean, Protestants and Catholics did horrible crap to one another. And Orthodox Christians were persecuted by Catholics, and Orthodox Christians persecuted other types of Orthodox Christians.
