Does the government In america spend more on education than Defence?

Pretty sure the total numbers are 834.5 billion for defense and 983.5 billion for education. It took me a second to figure out how the left is saying weird things like we spend more on defense than education. What they do is compare federal budgets and considering Educations local and state budgets account for more than 880 billion. So yeah the federal government doesn't put a whole lot towards education but it is a fact we spend more on education in the US than defense in 2017.

I've said the right would [b]rather[/b] spend more on defense than education, because based upon the programs they [b]cut[/b] first when they get into power, that's been provable.

@bijouxbroussard Intelligent educated people did not put Trump in the White House. Expect more cuts, and he will probably start picking on libraries.
