I Write Poetry

[big][c=#000000]1965[/c][/big]
How can I say this
But that table it's no longer there
And the hi-fi radio
Is in bad need of repair

The old black and white
Photograph of us sitting together
Your thick rimmed glasses
My long unkempt boyish hair

Ink stains, paper stains, coffee stains
Laugh lines, cigarette Ash, coffee grinds
Are all meaning less now. Have gone out
With bell-bottoms, groovy-tunes, dropping-out
Tuning-in, free-love, Happy-hour, Flower-Power

The world isn't any more corrupt or less
than it once was but the messy coffee table
Ice-blocks in the fridge, love letters pinned to walls
I don't know how to tell you this but those days are gone.
