I Write Poetry

The first poem I have ever written. It is very cheesy but I was focusing mainly on the Petrarchan sonnet structure using iambic pentameter. Here it is all the same


Burning desire changed my world at once
That look from you was all it took to keep
My mind ablaze my body far from sleep
So weak I fought in vain this dazzling trance

Broken, remade, I must embrace this chance
Compelled by forces swelling up that lead
Me forward, lesser paths I could not heed
A man gone mad from love’s transcendence

Never again to be the same I knew
Devoted, filled with passion, love so real
My life now lies before me truly mine
Taking to heart your words that rung so true
Has healed my flaws so shamefully revealed
With light so bright becomes my sunshine
