Sharing my favourite poem, framed and put in my living room "The mountain" by Laura Ding-Edwards

That's a great one. Thank you for sharing.

I'll share my favourite poem with [i]you...

[center]TIRED OF SPEAKING SWEETLY

Love wants to reach out and manhandle us,
Break all our teacup talk of God.

If you had the courage and
Could give the Beloved His choice, some nights,
He would just drag you around the room
By your hair,
Ripping from your grip all those toys in the world
That bring you no joy.

Love sometimes gets tired of speaking sweetly
And wants to rip to shreds
All your erroneous notions of truth

That make you fight within yourself, dear one,
And with others,

Causing the world to weep
On too many fine days.

God wants to manhandle us,
Lock us inside of a tiny room with Himself
And practice His dropkick.

The Beloved sometimes wants
To do us a great favor:

Hold us upside down
And shake all the nonsense out.

But when we hear
He is in such a "playful drunken mood"

Most everyone I know
Quickly packs their bags and hightails it
Out of town.

@Queendragonfly No, it's not about that. For me, it's about people being caught up in their replacement lives and their unwillingness to allow themselves to come into alignment with who they truly are.

@PhoenixPhail Ohh okay.

@PhoenixPhail sadly this sounds like is domestic abuse… when a man (or woman) says they love someone, but these are the actions that represent their version of love— and if he is going to add alcohol to the mix— you better not stick around. And there’s a little bit of play on the sense that there is no God that would allow someone to be locked into a room or relationship like this..and you’re crazy for believing in God it’s tragic reality for some. It would require a special reader to have the right affect
Yeah, it's good advice.
We all need to be kinder to ourselves.
Our Western cultures encourage far too much workaholism
and non-stop action.
Life's far more enjoyable when we take time each day to breathe fresh air and commune with nature, read a book or chat with a good friend.

@hartfire Absolutely yes. And. People who take care of themselves will automatically be kind to others too.

If the mountains seem too big today,
Just relax and try and find another way,

If the morning brings you sadness,
Look with hope to the afternoon with gladness,

If the day ahead ways heavy,
Don’t think of it as a levy,

There’s no shame in rearranging,
For people and life are constantly changing,

If a shower stings like needles,
Just relax and listen to a song from the Beatles,

If you haven’t washed your hair for days,
Then it’s time to pluck and separate the grays,

A day is not a lifetime,
A rest often is the perfect rhyme,

Don’t think of it as a failure,
Just change your temperature,

It’s okay to take a moment,
To forget life’s problems and torment,

The world will not stop turning,
So why worry and keep yearning ?

The mountains will still be there,
We all eventually come to the realization that life is never fair,

You can climb it in your own time,
Just realize one thing, most people never find peace of mind….

This is a beautiful poem that I can truly identify with. It reminds me of something I tell myself and others on especially terrible days.... It's okay not to be okay today. Maybe tomorrow will bring respite"

Thanks for sharing 💝😊
