A Poem I Wrote For A Poetry Competition. The Prompt Was, 'A Time When You Speaking Up or Standing Up For Yourself' or Something Like That.

There are so many times when I should speak up but don't
Not because I am an introvert, or can't, but I simply won't.

I choose to stay respectfully quiet
When everything is telling me to lower my grace and fight.

Words hurt, and when you repel evil with what is better
In hope, that your Indian tailor, who was rude to you, will someday give you a free sweater.

When you want to repel evil with what is better
You should write your father, like Gandhi, a letter.

It's difficult to do that, when you are full of yourself and, at first sight of disrespect, will bite
Actually, when you don't spent time working on yourself, you become full of spite.

When you should speak up, and choose to rather not
It talks about the immense amount of self-respect grace that you've got.
