I Love Poetry

Age is but a number they say
As I crawl out of bed , at the break of the day ,
Creak,
Creak,
Creak ,
Is that the joints?
Don't want to speak,
Grating teeth to a point.
Squinting eyes, feeling around,
Face all crumpled,
Fear of hitting the ground.
Catch myself in the mirror
As I pass through the room,
A tongue is pulled out at me
Out of the gloom.
I chuckle and smile
This is just what I need,
My spirit is lifted,
As I pick up my speed.
I make it to where I needed to go ,
Just in time may I say
As I go with the flow .

Age is a number and usually, if you are lucky, not as bad as all that. There are times I wonder who that man is looking at me from the mirror.

I don't want to seem as if I am bragging, but I still wear the same size clothing as I did nearly 50 years ago, still run at least an hour a day. My physicians say I have the exercise stamina of a 45 year old. I am asked by my dermatologist how I keep so fit.

That is good to hear , keeping fit helps to prevent the body from going into decline , it sounds like your running is certainly putting a spring in the step 😉
