Just a poem

Lessons Unlearned

You disappeared into shadows,
Thick fog wrapped 'round your voice,
I won't let you near me again,
How many lessons in silence,
Taught by your whispers of choice?

Your promises fell like autumn leaves,
Crumbled beneath the weight of trust,
Each word a shard of brittle glass,
A coward hides behind painted smiles,
Yet still I rise from the dust.

You said you changed; it's worse now,
The ache deepens with every glance.
No reason to weave through our lives,
Just remnants of a broken dance;
In my heart, no second chance.

Stay away—know we're not friends,
I've cast aside your tangled thread.
Resilience blooms where pain is sown,
In the garden where lessons are bred,
I hold my ground; you’re better left dead.
