Discarded toys
The closet door is cracked a little,
Letting in a sliver of light,
I'm a toy in the closet,
One of many piled in here tonight.
I used to be a cherished teddy bear,
At one time someone loved me,
Now my seams are tearing,
Exposed for all to see.
I was roughly loved many times,
Beat up on and thrown about,
Then discarded to the closet,
Forgotten, silenced, cast out.
So in here I sit, broken,
With a truck, blocks, some old games,
And all the other toys in the closet.
Remember me some day, and my name.
Letting in a sliver of light,
I'm a toy in the closet,
One of many piled in here tonight.
I used to be a cherished teddy bear,
At one time someone loved me,
Now my seams are tearing,
Exposed for all to see.
I was roughly loved many times,
Beat up on and thrown about,
Then discarded to the closet,
Forgotten, silenced, cast out.
So in here I sit, broken,
With a truck, blocks, some old games,
And all the other toys in the closet.
Remember me some day, and my name.
