I call this one DIVORCE

You give everything of yourself, to a person.
Conquering odds, you both defy.
Fighting shoulder to shoulder against the world with them.
Not caring if you love or die.
You have this person now, your safety net
Screw All that you fear and loathe
Feeling closer to that person than anyone on this earth
As if God is hugging you both
You make them your entire life!
Nothing else matters, you'd even face death
You give so much that it weakens you
You hardly recognize yourself.
If life was measured by generosity
In your dying breath you'd give and give.
Volunteering to dive on the sharpest of swords
If it meant that they could live.
Then one day you become trampled on, unappreciated
Called every name that there is in the book.
Every mirror that you've ignored this far in your life
Is finally receiving a look.
You take it all in, you forgive, you move on
Beginning to search your soul
You feel the anger, distrust, the hurt, the pain
Getting back the dignity, this person has stole.
You open your eyes and can clearly see
That with them, you've wasted your life.
Wishing you knew then, everything you know now
Before you became a wife.
When God closes a door, a small window opens
Big enough so someone new will squeeze through
God will whisper his new plan and path for your life
You'll know exactly what to do
He will send you someone to gaze upon you with love
Someone who actually cares.
You can still love your ex, but, from afar, as your heart is still tied to theirs.
Next time around, love yourself first!
Make yourself priority one!
Allow someone else a chance at knowing your heart.
And ALWAYS feel second to none!
