BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
If I were a bird, I could fly so high
I could go around the world - anyplace, anywhere.
I could endeavor to touch the sky.
Do so many things - that with the fear of falling - I wouldn't care to dare.
Anytime, any day without the crazy traffic to beware;
I could dance with the wind and race Airplanes,
fly away from the scorching sun, when summer comes to scare.
From California to New Delhi and to the silent Chicago lanes,
over meadows, across the oceans and over the farms of sugarcane;
I would just have to spread my wings and fasten up to launch my own flight.
To a new place - anytime, far away from hatred and pain,
to new beginnings and fantasies, much to my delight.
If I were a bird I could fly so high;
But I am not a bird and that makes me sigh.
I could go around the world - anyplace, anywhere.
I could endeavor to touch the sky.
Do so many things - that with the fear of falling - I wouldn't care to dare.
Anytime, any day without the crazy traffic to beware;
I could dance with the wind and race Airplanes,
fly away from the scorching sun, when summer comes to scare.
From California to New Delhi and to the silent Chicago lanes,
over meadows, across the oceans and over the farms of sugarcane;
I would just have to spread my wings and fasten up to launch my own flight.
To a new place - anytime, far away from hatred and pain,
to new beginnings and fantasies, much to my delight.
If I were a bird I could fly so high;
But I am not a bird and that makes me sigh.
