Who Am I? I am

I am a man

You're not a man, how can you call yourself a man?! Man?? You're a bitch, a pathetic excuse for a man

I am strong

Strong? You're weak, fucking meek. Strong? How can you get yourself so wrong?

I am free

Free? You fucking kidding me?! Have you taken a look at your entire fucking life recently?

I am lost

You're right on that one, I'm afraid if you are going to be a pathetic loser that is the cost.

I am me

We are we, I am you and you are me. So why do you abuse me?

Why do you abuse me?

Awesome, I love your slam poem time! Very good. Insightful, and with it you're learning and dealing with where your self criticism comes from.

Our criticising character is a misunderstood fellah. We like to hate him, he hurts us all the time, and his voice is oh so loud. One day I addressed him directly, I told him "If you think you can do better, then GO the fuck AHEAD! I'm surrendering all my control to you, so now YOU'RE in charge!". I could feel him smile upon me. He resides in our subconscious and he is not trying to hurt us, he is us, only in a different way. He can only watch what we do and criticise it. Why does he do it? Because he wants us to do better for ourselves. He wants us to get ourselves together and live a life that will make both of us happier. Once you understand that he is your friend and wants what is best for you, just like a person you love, you will learn to take it as constructive criticism and look at how and why you can improve rather than feeling like you're a failure.

I'm not 100% there, but I've walked on this road for a while now and I am getting to know this voice way better, and I know that at the end of the path what I said above will turn out to be the truth in full, and it will make you whole.

This is me... still... sadly. But, there are moments when I am able to rise above. That's new.
