Undress my Mind

Undress my mind

Disrobing layers of consciousness, memories, dreams

See me not with your eyes
but with your soul

Cradle my intricacies in your palm
My hopes, desires, and fears

Guide me to the freedom which can only be attained by fully being known

That poem is quite interesting. 🌷

@helenS Thank you, how so??
helenS · 36-40, F
@masterofyou It's because of some lines, not the poem as a whole. Lines like
'Undress me with your soul', and 'See me not with your eyes' do in fact touch me.

@helenS Sometimes all the lines are not for everyone, because just some of the lines just touch a few.... I do understand you as those two lines are what i feel the most.....💕

@masterofyou It's the same with some songs – some lines will make you feel like they are written just for you, whereas other lines say nothing, or almost nothing.
Oh and I thought you had written that poem!

@helenS i did write the poem but those two lines were written fo someone that was in my life and I'm glad they touched you also....💕

Poetry like songs are stories that are about struggles, good memories, tragedies, along with the tiny things in our lives that moved us in the journey of life... some good some bad...🙂🙃

@masterofyou When I first heard these lines of the Beatles song, "Blackbird":
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life"
I thought it was written just for me. 🦜 <== should be a blackbird emoji

@helenS The music of the Beatles related to most in my era years ago and i just loved them. I have all their vinyl albums.. But one song Yesterday by Paul McCartney touched me when i was in a relationship that went sour...

Songs are like time capsules in our lives...

@masterofyou Did you know the original Yesterday song title was actually “Scrambled Eggs”?
Paul’s original lyrics were,
"Scrambled eggs,
Oh my babe you’ve got such lovely legs,
Oh, my baby, how I love your legs.
I love your legs and scrambled eggs"
Now try to sing it with those lyrics and you will feel like a new man! 😏

@helenS ❤️❤️❤️

@masterofyou Maybe it was Paul's intention to write something with lovers of beautiful female legs in mind? - and John may have said "No no let's make it more acceptable to a broader audience!" 🤭
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@helenS Perhaps and i really didn't know that there was another set of lyrics before they released that version. I learned something today...

@masterofyou Oh I think that's not so unusual – a composer starts with a chord progression, and then he/she uses non-sensical lyrics to construct a melody over the chords. The "real" lyrics are made at a later stage of the production process. The final step is the arrangement, which, in the case of Yesterday, was done by George Martin, as far as I know.
