The lake the Kia crosses is Lake Burbury which is a man made reservoir built in 1991 by constructing the Crotty Dam across the King River, between Mount Jukes and Mount Huxley. [b]Crotty Dam/Mt Jukes[/b]
The dam is named in honour of James Crotty who founded the North Mount Lyell Copper Mine at the turn of the 20th century. A ghost town site of the same name Crotty was submerged by the waters of Lake Burbury. [image deleted]The bridge the Kia crosses is the Bradshaw Bridge, named after the family that owned and operated the sawmill that was inundated at Princess River.
